Specials Increasing Business as Pizza Hut (NYSE:YUM)

81% of Yum Brands' Pizza Hut locations were offering specials last week. Of those, 59% said that business had increased since the special began. The large pepperoni pan pizza was the most popular item with 41% of those surveyed, followed by the stuffed-crust pizza (22%) and the Tuscani pastas (19%). 74% stated that the most popular menu item was one that had been on the menu a long time.

48% of On the Border Restaurants (NASDAQ:TAST) Say Business is Better Than Last Year

At On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, dinner is the busiest time of day, according to 72% of restaurant locations polled in TickerMine's latest survey. 24% of On the Border restaurants are located near a mall where there are other restaurants. The average check size for a party of two is between $30 and $40, said 72% of sites polled. 20% said the average tab is under $30, and the remaining 8% said it's over $40. The most popular menu items at On the Border are fajitas (32%), the Ultimate Loaded Queso (12%) and Double-Stacked Club Quesadillas (8%). 48% of restaurants polled said they are busier than this time last year; 36% said business is about the same as last year, and 20% said it's slower.

Seasons 52 (NYSE:DRI) Averages $50 for Dinner

Tickermine recently surveyed six of Darden Restaurants' "Seasons 52" establishments and found the average bill for a party of two is $50, a bit more than many other casual dining chains. The chain, which changes its menu seasonally and focuses on healthful foods, also reported that more than 75% of its customers order appetizers. All locations reported that they are busier at dinner than at lunch.
