Analysts are looking for EPS of 39c on revenue of $419.78M. The consensus range for EPS is 38c to 41c, while the consensus range for revenue is $404M to $444M, according to First Call.
Plum Creek recently announced a $200M share buyback program. Two research firms recently had different outlooks on Plum Creek, as Merrill Lynch downgraded the REIT to Neutral from Buy, and Soleil upgraded the stock to Buy from Hold, citing valuation. Soleil set a target of $45.
The Wall Street Journal's Brett Arends recently suggested that novice investors consider betting on managed timber, which Arends identified as having a strong track record. Arends named Plum Creek, which he called "the blue chip stock in the sector", as a means of investing in timber.
