Motorola Inc. (MOT) is laying off 128 employees in Malaysia under a deal to sell its software development center to Indian consulting and outsourcing firm Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (SAY). The ailing U.S. technology company, which has operated in Mayaysia for 30 years, says it plans to maintain its presence there, but hopes to improve its operating efficiencies by divesting the software development center, which is part of its Home and Networks Mobility Business. --Andrea Orr
