When you are dealing with the Federal government, if there is one thing you can typically count on, it's paperwork.  Just look at the tax code.  However, we just came across the application for participation in the TARP Capital Purchase Program and were astonished at how short it was. 

While the entire application is six pages, the first four pages describe the eligibility and confidentiality guidelines.  The part of the application that you actually need to fill out is just two pages.  The application goes on to say that any additional information regarding mergers, acquisitions, or other capital raisings must be confined to one page!  In all seriousness, no-doc sub-prime loans probably required more info on the part of the borrower than this application.

I shall ask for my payment to be rounded to the nearest $1b and dropped off in small notes in my garage. Are there any trendy industries I should claim to be with to accelerate this. Auto's are already bail-out passe and so six minutes ago, retailers look promising, perhaps something in the entertainment industry needs bailing out. How about $1b for a blogger?

If this arrived via e-mail I would think it was a Nigerian 411 scam.

I sent in my application, seems to me that every one who submits an application should be considered to avoid discrimination. I would be the most reasonable, don't need billions, only a few hundred thousand would suffice and more than get me back on the road to recovery. I was thinking about having a country music company as I am now the epitome of all of the whining songs, lost my job, my ole man, my car, my house, now have to live with married kids in spare room out of a box with screaming grandkids! Don't drink, drugs, or smoke, but me thinks if I start I could probably get some government help. Doesn't pay much these days to be honest hard working American who stays out of trouble.

I haven't tried the application myself to get dollars I need to start verys business as investment company. been trying to get additional dollars for years now but could never get a real application for government dollars in the millions dollars that is need to stay in business but what every I say here the government need to help use small business people with tarp dollars. Need to help everybody that desire to run a business and to help have employee sometimes. I need alot of government dollars myself What I been doing is emailing the whitehouse and congress as well site.
