New Sirius Channel Line-ups Cause Stir 18 comments

Fans of satellite radio are passionate. It is for this reason that I knew the channel line-ups would cause confusion, opinion, and even outrage. It simply is the nature of the beast. You can not make all of the people happy all of the time.
Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) has done a decent job of making suggestions for channels on those that have been removed. The question is whether subscribers will be able to set aside their passion to give the other channels a try.
In some cases, a favorite channel may carry a new name. New Country on Sirius is now The Highway. Rest assured that Brad Paisley is the same on both the old and the new… as is Jewel. Human nature dictates a rash reaction to change. Human nature also gives us the ability to adapt to change.
Yes, there are channels that will no longer exist. If one of these was your favorite, express your opinion, but do it in a meaningful manner. Calling up angry saying you are going to cancel because one favorite channel was removed will not help get that channel back. Even a well worded letter may not get the desired results, but it at least has a better chance.
There were bound to be issues when the channels were unveiled. Certainly the company will be listening to opinion carefully as they move forward. Give a reasoned and well worded opinion, and you will have a much better chance of bringing about adjustments in the future.
Are you happy with the new line-ups? Is there a channel that is no longer available that you will miss? Is there a channel that you will try out? Check out the forums as conversations are popping up all over the place.

Keep up the good work Tyler. Always good to hear good news from you, unlike other haters.

After months of reading Tyler, I am sad to report IMO this comments section has become a home for Sirius deception marketing. Sirius and Sirius marketing companies have obviously hired people to post to the Tyler Blog with hope of influencing the “unwashed” “unsophisticated” stock investor. (That is how Mel K refers to you investors.)
Please be advised as you read the comments that you may be subject to deception from people working directly or indirectly for Sirius. I know several user names here are actually used by only one person who is working for the purpose of Sirius. Several more user names are also used for Sirius propaganda.
A true long term investor in Sirius who does not have any other motivation will never vote for a Reverse Split or a 1$ billion saturation of a major investment.
Do NOT believe the propaganda on these comment sections. Sirius will have you averaging down in a scheme to take all of your money.
Sirius investors please protect your investment. Send in your proxy vote. We request you to please vote “no” to the reverse split and vote “no” to the additional shares.

Gald to hear SIRI has survived earnings. Got absolutley slaughtered in AAPL, and have since taken a neutral to bear stance with a long straddle. I just don't know what to say about this market. Valuations, actual earnings, and reality seem to escape it. I sincerely hope that our current administrastion and G20 do something or I fear we may see Dow 6k-7k within the next few months. I strongly suggest nutral positions (hedge longs) as anything with a beta is going decline.
Good Luck,
NVS
The music is the same guys, SXM will continue offer the programming but in perhaps a slightly different format. I am a jazz listener, so I lost my Sirius channel to XM's Watercolors, yeh, so what......One week later I can not even remember what the Sirius channel was called! Sounds ok to me. Now, the Rock channels lost buzzsaw, you can find the same thing just listen. In fact, I like the way they went all the way back to the 40's music stuff, not that I am going to listen but if you buy mom and dad a receiver, maybe they will like to hear all the music of their era. Buy them one for Christmas.
What we need is to stop the worry about the little stuff, consolidation is a must to bring down costs, period. Save your energy for the announcement of the refinancing, if indeed it ever happens. I just hope that it happens soon!

There are too many 24/7 featured artists stations, Bruce Springsteen, Greatful Dead, Elvis, Sinatra, AC/DC. Give me a break! If you need to hear 24/7 Bruce Springsteen then just load up you CD player or iPod with that crap and Sirius can free up a channel!
