China Sky One Medical, Inc. (CSKI) has obtained the rights to nine new drugs from Shandong Medicine Research & Development Institute, paying 15 million RMB ($2.2 million). The company estimates the nine products will generate $5 million in revenue during 2009.
According to China Sky One, the nine products are popular in rural areas of China and have received all necessary SFDA approvals. The agreement was made between China Sky One’s subsidiary, Peng Lai Jin Chuang Pharmaceutical Company, and Shandong.
The following is a list of the new products:
- Oyster Shell Calcium Granules and Oyster Shell Calcium Tablets: for the treatment of calcifames and osteoporosis, especially for children, the elderly and pregnant and nursing women;
- Loquat Syrup: an expectorant for the treatment of tussis and bronchitis;
- Flos Lonicerae Syrup: for the treatment coughs, colds, fever and sore throat;
- Sedative Bolus: for the treatment of depression and insomnia;
- Compound Paracetamol and Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride Tablets: for the treatment of fever, headaches and perennial allergic rhinitis;
- Compound Tablet of Red Sage Root: for activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis and angina;
- Compound Aminopyrine Tablets: for the treatment of fever and mild or moderate pain;
- Vitamin B1 Tablets: a supplement to prevent illnesses such as beriberi and dyspepsia.
