With the Canadian Government approving the Petronas takeover of Canadian natural gas producer Progress Energy (PGN), the race is officially on for companies to secure Montney natural gas resources.
The race is going to be between the companies listed below, which will be building LNG export terminals. These terminals are aimed at taking advantage of the low price of natural gas in Canada by exporting it into higher Asian prices.
If all of these LNG terminals are built, the amount of natural gas they will require on a daily basis is enormous. The 5.7 bcf per day listed above is a large number when you consider that Canadian natural gas production per day in total today...
