Cramer's Lightning Round - Visa Is Charging Ahead (1/9/13)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Wednesday January 9.

Bullish Calls:

Visa (NYSE:V): "I was going to criticize that Goldman Sachs analyst, because he didn't like it last year, but there is a brand new analyst, and he rates Visa as a Conviction Buy. I'm with him. Visa goes higher."

Rentech Nitrogen Partners (NYSE:RNF): "We missed the agriculture move, but this one is fine. We like it."

SPDR Gold Trust ETF (NYSEARCA:GLD): "I'm going to go with the GLD (instead of Goldcorp)."

CYS Investments (NYSE:CYS): "As long as the economy stays strong, you are going to be fine. This stock needs a strong economy. I think the economy will stay strong."

Bearish Calls:

Goldcorp (NYSE:GG): "Management is terrific, but I'm going to go with the GLD."

Yandex (NASDAQ:YNDX): "I'm not investing in Russia. I'm having enough problems with China."

Nokia (NYSE:NOK): "Has already headed up. I think Apple's new product cuts into Nokia's profit margins. Don't buy."

KiOr (NASDAQ:KIOR): "This is too speculative. Don't buy."

BankUnited (NYSE:BKU): "I'm not a buyer. I do like Florida, but BKU has spiked. Let's go with the Ohio banks that represent better value."

Ultra Petroleum (UPL): "UPL is so low. Natural gas is so low. You know how much I want to recommend it, but I think UPL is going nowhere."
