Realty Income (O), the monthly dividend real estate company dedicated to providing shareholders with dependable income, announced that its Board has approved an increase in its monthly dividend from $0.141125 to $0.14175 per common share.     Hi, Read your article but you are wrong on the D dividend. Dominion raised their dividend from 39.5 cents to 43.75 cents per their news release on December 19th, 2008. This happens to be the 11% raise. Check your facts. Thanks.

    I've actually owned O for several years, and added substantially to my position on recent weakness. The retail properties are not of the "big box" variety, and the properties are diversified by type (retail, child care, heatlth care, etc.). The company is in good shape, in terms of debt structure (they've not got any debt to roll over for several years), and the pay-out ratio is conservative, and well covered by FFO.
