Radware Ltd. (RDWR) is apparently poised to acquire a part of Nortel (NT), according to Globes Online.

Radware apparently wants to buy some or all of Nortel’s metro Ethernet networks business. Globes Online said Radware has the “wherewithal” to make a deal because it has $137.4-million in cash.

I can’t say Radware has come up as a potential suitor for part or all of the MEN business so this “story” comes as a surprise.

Radware and NT metro Ethernet isn't a good marriage. Look deeper at Nortel's product portfolio and at what Radwares core business is - there is a better match to be made.

    Hi,
This new may have substance.. Nortel's OME-5130 (part of Metro Ethernet Business) is High Speed Compression/Encryption box, this goes very well with Radware's Link-Proof that offers Compression & Encyption along with Load-Balancing..

They just announced agreement to buy the Alteon business from Nortel, which makes good sense for both companies. Do you think the Metro Ethernet division is still of interest to Radware? As stated above, it could be a good fit with the LinkProof product.
