Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lighting Round Picks 6/9
Bullish calls:
Schering-Plough (SGP) 'If you wanted MRK for the cholesterol drug, I'm going to send you to SGP.'
Evergreen Solar (ESLR): 'The only one I'm recommending in that group (solar) now is ESLR. You can take that one - not to the bank - but maybe to the community savings and loan.'
Darden Restaurants, Inc. (DRI): 'If you need to be in a fast food stock, or a food stock in general, I am going to send you DRI.
Yum! Brands Inc. (YUM)
Goldman Sachs (GS): 'I am going to revert to GS, because I believe that Blankfein is two thumbs up, way up.'
Willbros Group (WG): 'After you blow up a pipeline, you've got to get this company in to fix the pipeline. It is the cheapest infrastructure play on earth. It's a break out stock.'
Amedisys (AMED)
Chesapeake Energy (CHK): 'I think natural gas is forming a bottom. I think natural gas goes to $8 and, when it does, I think CHK goes to $36. So, therefore, I am recommending the stock.'
Bearish calls:
Merck (MRK): 'While (new drug Gardisil) is a great thing to stop cervical cancer, it is not enough. The plaintiffs' bar has set their sights on destroying MRK.'
IAC/InterActiveCorp (IACI)
Suntech Power (STP): 'the solar game is history. I happen to think that STP could actually go back to where it came public (i.e., $15.00 IPO price).'
Burger King Holdings (BKC)
King Pharmaceuticals (KG)
Lehman Brothers (LEH): 'No, no. Not in this environment (to take it to its high).'
Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI)
Microsoft (MSFT): 'I think that stock is awful. It may be one of the worst stocks I've ever had in my charitable trust.'
Texas Instruments (TXN): 'I think that's a bad sign; when a company raises guidance; when a company says a lot of good things, and the stock goes down a dollar. That tells me that stock's got trouble.'
