Tip For A Cheap Massage
Massages: what a great luxury to indulge yourself in every once in awhile! Yet they can be very expensive. Here's a tip for an cheaper alternative:
Massage schools offer lowered rates, around $25 an hour, for massages from their students. This is great savings compared to the approximate $100 an hour from a full-fledged professional. To find a massage school near you, check your preferred online yellow pages or Natural Healers for a nationwide listing of massage schools.

This is a quality tip that can be extended to a number of other areas. For example, basic cleaning and check ups can be received at dental schools if you don't have dental insurance (you might want to think a bit if you need major dental work however) for a fraction of the price of visiting a dentist. Beauty schools can also be an inexpensive alternative to get hair cuts, manicures and pedicures. The list goes on...
I recently got a massage at a booth at the mall for about $12 for 10 minutes. I'm seeing more of these little booths nowadays. It's a great pick-me-up ;)
As a professional Massage Therapist myself.... having gone thru a massage school program with the Student Clinic at cheaper rates...please keep in mind that the students are very much still learning. If you have any medical condition that may be affected by massage, it would be safer to go with an experienced therapist. Many massage schools have alumni lists for past students who now practice professionally. Just ask.
