Romance On A Budget
The internet has made it incredibly easy to perform romantic tasks with little or no effort. With a few simple clicks you can get flowers or chocolates delivered, buy tickets for something or make reservations at a restaurant.
It’s enough to make you wonder whether the romance hasn’t been squeezed out a bit by all the technology.
Here’s an idea for a candy gift that is fun but won’t break the bank. Instead of ordering or buying a big box of candy, why not make up your own? It’s one of those situations when the thought really does count and in some cases it will count for more! Find out your lover’s favourite candy (I’m sure you know it already) and prepare a box with a selection of them inside. Take a little time choosing the right box and find or make your own picture to go on the outside. You can easily personalize it with your own photos and message and the reaction will be terrific.
Another great romantic suggestion is a picnic at an open air concert. Check your local listings to see what’s on offer. If nothing fits, you can combine a free concert at a local college campus with a before or after meal in the park. Again, the preparation involved – choosing a bottle of wine, making sure you have the right blanket – shows far greater initiative than buying expensive tickets for a stuffy auditorium.
What’s the most romantic thing you’ve done without paying for it?
