Of course, history doesn't necessarily repeat itself, and there are some key differences between the early 2012 gains and the stock's rapid rise in 2013. The 2012 rise came on, essentially, no news; it had a nice gain when 2011 third quarter results were announced, but would go on to more than double before its annual report was released in March 2012. In barely two months, the stock's meteoric rise was essentially wiped out.
