Allow me to again challenge the pessimistic views of the contingent that has formed, aligning itself against Sirius XM (SIRI) regarding free web based applications. Sirius XM will always win out due to its content and subscription business model. The Internet offers very little in the way of real competition and there is nothing on the horizon that remotely changes that.
No matter how hard you look, you will not find the NFL, NHL, NBA, PGA, MLB, NASCAR, Premier League Soccer or the National Lacrosse League on Slacker. No where on Pandora will a user find CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR, Fox News, Bloomberg, the BBC or proprietary channels such as P.O.T.U.S. (Politics Of The United States) and emergency traffic and weather. No free Internet streaming method will afford the user access to Howard Stern, Oprah Winfrey, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, Martha Stewart nor the array of stars on Sirius XM’s comedy channels.
The preceding factors are the reasons that Sirius XM subscribers and investors are excited about Sirius XM’s soon to be released iPhone and iPod applications (AAPL). For iPhone users, the wait has ended.
News broke late Tuesday night that there is now an application that allows Sirius XM to stream through the iPhone. Honestly, at first I thought it could be an April Fools joke, however iPhone users across the internet yesterday were reporting that it is in fact working. Credit was given to Todd of Nicemac for providing the information.
A couple days ago I surmised that Sirius might be working with Nicemac on such applications. The news broke Tuesday night and yesterday morning, Sirius XM began running ads that target iPhone users. While listening to CNBC on Sirius, Sirius ran a commercial for LogMeIn, an iPhone application that allows the user to log into their home or office computer.
Disclosure: Author holds a long position in SIRI, no position in AAPL

President of the United States
I think Sirius should stream some free content with commercials announcing what's going on on other channels. They need an outlet to get the word out, if they won't do it thru tv and radio for now.
LONG LIVE SIRIUS!!!!
To the person overseas with the browser issues: update with patches, upgrade version or reinstall your browser.
Seeking Alpha started censoring their posts so they moved over to SiriusBuzz!
Although this is not the official Iphone app, it is a start, and will get the word out that SiriusXM did not go BK and is alive and out of its self-induced coma.

I did like the service, however, that I did get News, Sports, and other AM channels crystal clear and while driving anywhere.... I think this was the best part of it... the music, not so great.... the other content, however, very nice.
The streaming to an Apple touch device... now that's good business. If they allow the subscription to go with you, from the vehicle to any of your devices, that will certainly make the value proposition much greater.
Next steps for Sirius/XM- and you heard it here first:
(1) Develop a very small, but powerful satellite receiver that plugs into the bottom of the Apple touch device. This will allow satellite reception, when cellular broadband is dead, or WiFi is not present.
(2) Offer INTERNET service over satellite. That's a huge increase of the value proposition of the product that will justify the subscription. Now, with your portable Apple touch device, you not only get media content, you get high speed internet. Couple that with Bluetooth tethering, you have satellite internet on the go to your laptop as well.
(3) Offer VIDEO. Why not? You have Sirius/XM to a video touch device.
(4) Partner with Slingbox, Apple, or both, to allow home content to be uploaded to the Sirius XM servers, with a "Home" downlink to your Sirius XM device on the go. This could be sold as an extra feature, selling bandwidth to end users.
Sirius XM will be HUGE, if they apply the above incrementally. Can you imagine have personal internet, Video, & audio where ever you go? This will compete with the Cable companies, as you no longer would pay for HOME monthly subscriptions, but rather a USER subscription, that goes with you, where ever you are.
If they don't do the above? Ho-Hum, status quo.
I sill say they could use these devises with unlimited possibilities. Say a GPS track software that will allow parents to track kids or for use in vehicles as an onstar or lojack substitute. Companies could reduce their equiptment costs on their fleet-trac systems they currently have while adding GPS, Radio, Weather Etc. The next deal will hopefully be with Liberty to provide live Sat Tv to your AAPL or SIRI devise and then move on to Blackberry. Endless Possibilities!

Why no news on the Sirius or Apple sites? Sounds like a bunch of hopeful thinking to me.

I have a lifetime account and just upgraded my 2nd one to a lifetime account when they increased the fees. The online player is supposed to be included with the lifetime. Both accounts do the same thing ("ready") when I log on. It must have something to do with my laptop. Customer service is not very helpful and the website help section did not help either. If you or someone has any advice or previous experience with this I would appreciate it.
AGAIN THIS IS NOT THE NAME OF THE SIRIUS APP FOR THE IPHONE.
