Cabot Corp. (CBT) is probably one of the least exciting and most difficult to understand companies out there. The firm is a leading maker of specialty chemical products including carbon blacks, activated carbon, cesium formate drilling fluids, and fumed silica, elastomer composites. Most investors have no idea what any of these products are, and wouldn't know an activated carbon if it fell out of the sky in front of them. Perhaps because of the complexity of their business, I believe that CBT is undervalued, and that the firm has three significant catalysts in the coming months, which could help the stock to take off.
