Tip For Free Movies, Magazines, and Internet Access
Did you know you can get great free stuff at your local library?
Here's a reminder for all of us: We all know you can check out books and magazines for free. However, most libraries now offer free Internet access, music and movies. If you haven't been to your local library lately, it's worth checking out.
While you're at it, pick up a book or two -- that won't hurt either.

Libraries have changed a lot over the years and if you haven't stopped by your local library lately, it is certainly worth checking out again.
Another great aspect is that they are air conditioned and with the current hot weather, a great place to spend the afternoon where you can escape the heat and don't have to spend the money at keeping your own residence cool.
The San Francisco Public Library has an incredible collection of book, DVD's and music cd's - worth the effort to get there - and free movies on Thursday noon.
Good idea that every people have free access to books, music , etc from the internet.
Cleveland Public Library just went live YESTERDAY with downloadable videos from home. They're free--all you need is a Cleveland-area library card. The collection isn't that huge yet, but it will grow, and right now they have lots of travel videos, kids' stories, classic movies and even films like "Supersize Me!" Here's the site.
The St. Louis Library has a fairly extensive DVD collection, and they're usually wonderful about purchasing suggested titles. It takes quite a bit of patience, especially for popular movies, but well worth the savings.
I find it sad that the library in my area has a more comprehensive selection of movies than it does books. I believe that proportionately, more people are coming in to the library to take out movies than books. The whole thing is just depressing...
Wow, it's a shame in this high-tech instant-gratification age we're living in, people often skip right past the library! If you've got a good-sized local library, chances are that you'll find a relatively good assortment of DVDs (including new or recent releases!), music CDs (which is good way to get free music to boot!), and the ilk. And better than simply offering internet access, a lot of local libraries offer free Wi-Fi as well.
If the public library system merged all their disjointed infrastructures into one national system with a single search/loan interface, you can bet your life that the local libraries would get more traffic than they could handle. And a lot of retailers would be miffed, to say the least. ;)
