Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger came together at the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in Omaha on May 4th to speak with Liz Claman of Fox Business Channel. Starting around the three-minute mark of an interview segment on Buffett's succession plans, the three business leaders recommend four interesting books:
- Bill Gates recommends Showing Up For Life, by Bill Gates Sr., saying his father "did a great job on it."
- Charlie Munger recommends Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell, saying that it is a "terrific" and "perfectly marvelous book" and that Gladwell "has collected a lot of interesting facts and drawn a lot of interesting conclusions."
- Warren Buffett recommends two of his all-time favorites: Poor Charlie's Almanack: The Wisdom and Wit of Charles T. Munger ("it's got all kinds of wisdom in it") and Katharine Graham's autobiography ("you'll learn a lot")
We have also compiled lists of other books recommended by Gates, Buffett and Munger. We have found all three men to be wonderful "guides" for those looking to learn more about business or investing.

In my view, Buffett and Munger advanced the area of "decision framing" and outlined a sensible approach to valuation by including all the important stakeholders in a four "decision cluster" process.
"The Four Filters Invention of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger" paperback is available from Amazon.com and the audio cd version is available from Lulu.com here: www.lulu.com/content/5...
Here is a short audio clip for your readers to review. And, pay special attention to the last minute of the audio. It is a bit scratchy, but careful listeners will appreciate its historical significance.
