In a sickening media blitz that belongs in Iran rather than the United States, it appears that the most trusted news agencies are conspiring and search engines are being manipulated to eliminate any and all news of Sirius XM’s (SIRI) new Apple (AAPL) iPhone application, unless of course it deals with programming that is not available with the new application.

Nowhere on a Google (GOOG) search will a user see a single announcement of the most anticipated Apple application in history. Instead, only headlines that read that the application is missing Howard Stern will be found. The same Howard Stern that the same media has been writing about for the last two years as being insignificant. Nowhere will you find the company’s press releases through PR Newswire nor Dow Jones Newswire, not to mention the thousands of blogs that have written about the story since it debuted at midnight on June 18, 2009.

What you will see is republished articles from last July that have been re-released Thursday morning through the Associated Press as news that brings issues of Sirius XM debt to the top of search results. Debt mind you that was laid to rest back in February of this year. Did I mention this is from LAST JULY? A similar news story had been released through Fidelity on Sirius XM’s last run to recent stock price highs. Investors would like to know when the SEC might actually DO THEIR JOB? This type of flagrant media manipulation continues to go unchecked. The Atlanta Journal Constitution responded to complaints stating:

“There is clearly some sort of technical problem today on either our end or Google News’ end. Our top tech folks are investigating because many of our old stories on a wide variety of topics are suddenly showing up toward the top of Google News results. This normally doesn’t happen, and we don’t WANT it to happen. I assure you we don’t deliberately promote old news as if it’s new. It doesn’t serve us or our readers.

Thanks again for alerting us to the problem with the Sirius story.”

Other “news” articles topping the search engines list of current news stories include 3 week old news that the company will be passing on royalty increases to subscribers; that Sirius XM “neutered” its iPhone app; and headlines that include the phrases “Are you Sirius?” or “Why am I still invested in Sirius.” AJC goes on to state:

Oh, thank you for the screenshot! That’s very helpful.
This may tie into another problem we’re wrangling, which is why a 2008 story about Tiger Woods is suddenly showing up among our most popular. I’ll pass your screenshot along to the folks who are investigating that one.

We want Google News to be able to find our content, but not like this! :-)

Thanks again for the help. I assure you there was no deliberate attempt on our part to disseminate old news; this just falls into the category of “Something odd is happening."

Just as the movie Stock Shock demonstrates, there seems to be a concerted effort on the part of Wall Street criminals in collusion with the mainstream media to put roadblock after roadblock in front of the Satellite Radio provider. Perhaps the recent legislation proposed by President Barrack Obama can be worded in such a way to include severe penalties for these intentional perpetrators of fraud on the American investor.

Position: Long SIRI

I think siri investors have gone a bit crazy.
The short selling and option regulations are on point, but the idea that there is an evil plot to destroy siri through google searches is a stretch.

All siri talked about when the got stern was how amazing it was they had Howard stern and how xm and terrestrial radio were done because they had Stern. Nobody has made a bigger deal about stern than siri, and they released an app without him.

the blame for this falls on siri, this company is run by wylie coyote.
Not everyone who is selling is a shorter by the way. I was long siri but you can only be kicked in the nuts so many times before you walk off the field.

Do i think people are messing with google, yes.

Do i think that's the reason the stock stopped rising, no.

I think the effect of these things are greatly overstated. the reason all you see is reviews complaining about no Stern is because people are pissed there is no Stern. They should not have released an app without him, or at the very least they should have had a statement in the release to say what the situation with stern is.

    user 443922...
You must know your media history in regards to this stock.
#1. Management NEVER promoted Howard to be on the app. It was on the CC slide, thats it. So yes, he is coming. Promoted as being offered , absolutely not.
#2. Main stream media picked up the no Howard story like hes a demigod or something. This contradicts their own opinion of him. We have heard time and time again by the same writers covering the no Howard. Since he is a has been, isnt influential anymore, and is simply just retiring probably or going back to terrestrial radio(yes, ALL points HOUNDED to us by the MSM time and time again) their reaction to the news was hypocritcal, unusual, illogical, and stinks of something else.

You cant have it both ways. Hes either irrelevant, hence no newsworthy hes not on it, or he is, and it is news worthy, hence discrediting years of Howard bashing and SiriusXM bashing.

So basically the media is pumping Howard, gave them tons of free publicity to the app and Howard. #1 music app right now, and #3 free app overall. Other 2 are dumb ones, and not competing wiht SiriusXM in any way. This affected the price of the stock yesterday, but helped add countless downloads.
So thanks for adding to SIriusXM bottom line yesterday, for future gains. Thanks for you hypocricy and the free media blitz. They are dumb. Then again,no one EVER accused ANY MSM writer of being smart.

And no, since I dont believe in coincidences, the google error was no error. Nor was the fake BK scare article thrown up on the first run up in the stock price. If no ones can see that, then they probably should get out of the market all together. Because they are investing using the MSM for all their stocks, and are going to be trading on bad information.

If people dont understand how the media affects stock prices, then once again, they should stop investing.
Did management throw the MSM a softball, underhanded? of course. The media hit it out of the park, proving their bias. This was not newsworthy as it was. I mean it was all over. AP even mentioned it as important to release this information immediately to their concerned readers. LOL LOL LOL

    WHAT GOING ON WITH SIRI?
Do you really want to know?

Mel is screwing SIRI Stock Holders for his continued but ever changing evil plans. Mel has no respect for The “Unwashed Common Stock Holder”.

December 08 before the stock holder meeting, I informed everyone on Seeking Alpha that “Two Private Investors have made offer to Mel and no REV-Split is required”. If Mel had taken one of the two offers we would all be looking good and not Rev-Split would be looming. The offers at the time were much better than what happened in the SIRI takeover War.

Now, Mel wants his Rev Split and he will soon get it. Originally Mel desired to take SIRI private and this may still be in the works. However, now we have a 40 percent partner. One way to reduce that 40 percent partner is to Rev-Split 1 for 50 and then issue more stock during the next “Mel created emergency”. The key idea here is that Mel has a plan and his plans always screw stock holders.

More history- Mel invented a lawsuit and paid a third party to sue SIRI. Yes, you read that correctly. It is well known that Mel attempted to get total protection from class actions of stock holders for his antics during the merger. Fortunately, Michal Hartlib discovered the corruption and prevented Mel from obtaining the protection. The Judge in that case was outraged.

SIRI Stock Holders can not get a fair vote. Between our 40 percent partner and the reserve stock held by the company, public stock holders are out-numbered. Mel is a wild man and he is running fully unchecked.

Wall Street and Main Media have been burned and given up on SIRI. They know but can not write about what Mel did to stock holders of three companies that he devastated, took private, and merged to build Viacom. Three years beating back lawsuits and Mel became a media mogul on the backs of poor beaten investors. This is all well known information that Mel is proud to speak about during parties for the rich and famous.

Mel will continue to make his little innocent looking mistakes. He will have you believing the world is beating him up. But what is truly going on is Mel and Goldman Sacks are making millions trading SIRI on the back end. This billion dollar monster is Mel’s “Cash Cow” and the “Unclean Stock Holder” is getting milked.

Most or the main stream investors (other than insiders) are avoiding SIRI like a disease. Most will NOT touch SIRI until the Rev-Split is over or off the table. So, SIRI will not go over 1.00 and will need the Rev Split to keep its NasD listing. Mel wants this split. Do not expect Mel to do anything correctly until after he gets his Rev-Split.

I have posted this information so that new comers understand the deep crap they are looking at in SIRI. I will not be responding. I got tired of defending the truth of SIRI long past. Some Bloggers and Seeking Alpha get a pay check for beating up people for posting the truth about SIRI here…

I am NOT Michal Hartlib, NOT part of that group, NOT part of the movie. But, I did quit a long time ago…

Above poster is delusional and paranoid. Suing themselves is common practise to prevent the crazies of the world from undermining company progress from fake lawsuits. Learn your facts, dude!!!

You get a paycheck for posting that crap. Who pays you? You just an honest guy throwing up unsubstantiated comments about the company. Your mad you bought at $9, i get it. Your mad you wont buy back, i get it. Hush your mouth, buy at .34 and enjoy. Or dont, and stay a bitter confused investor. Up to you.

Regardless of this being a bad bond movie plot or just inept management killing this stock dead it is still a bad place to throw money at the moment.

I again point out that when siri first got Howard Stern they didn't stop talking about it. Nobody did. I did not see one article in the MSM that wasn't talking about it and saying that siri was going to be worth a fortune. I read alot of articles calling this stock a goldmine. In fact i'm pretty sure i remember i say a recent SA blog saying Howard Stern is the most important man at sirius.

The fact is this company, for whatever reason, is poorly run. They spend too much money acquiring talent, and they are still showing a loss. If this had been a well run company with a solid balance sheet and was trading in the .30 range the MSM conspiracy theory would hold more water.

That said this company has tremendous potential upside, but it is a risk. I think there are alot of investors are not emotionally invested in this stock that buy when something big is on the horizon looking to go long, but are more than happy to dump it when it goes badly.

I've always enjoyed your posts. I think you are very knowledgable about the SIRI situation because you do your homework. However, I think that Siri-Doom has made some very good points and even though it sounds almost hard to believe, you can't just dismiss it as dilusional, without evidence to the contrary. And, I haven't seen any. It is all just conjecture. I would love to see the accusations disproved.....but, I don't see it anywhere. If you can, let's see it!

I agree..but Siri-Doom is the white coated tinfoil-hat wearer. Some of the statements are true , but the one about posting in Dec is not. Check out the number of posts by the individual, and look at all his posts. There are seven posts, as of my posting. Siri-Doom loses credibility with me in the fact that his announcement of Mel's indiscression can not be supported. What comes across is the bitterness of a loss in share price of his stock. Provided he did not sell, he lost nothing. If he did sell, he decided that management can not bring Sirius out of a failing business model. The past three quarters has proven that statement (and thought) to be incorrect. We are coming out of the biggest economic crush since the great depression. This is not my opinion, this is exemplified in TARP & the Auto loans. Sirius has succeded with going Positive EBIDTA despite the economics. Provided that Sirius can continue to be EBIDTA positive into the 2Q, the worst is over. TARP money is being given back, backs are loaning money again. The Automotive companies have resturctured via BK and the economy is moving on. This is more than I can say for Siri-Doom.

I agree - the Doom guy just copies and pastes the same stuff everywhere. I don't see much original thought beyond the same dead horse getting a whoopin'.

I also agree with the your/you're guy. That annoys me.

As to SIRI, who knows? I am way long and I hope it pays off. I have done my research. Are there some things beyond my control? Sure. But that is the case with any company - from SIRI to 'unstoppable' companies like GE. How about all of those YHOO arbitrage boys? Anyone talk to Icahn about that one lately?

What I'm saying is this - I hate it when people...long or short...speak in terms of guarantee. They know. They are sure. Whatever. Nothing is a sure thing - especially in the market...and especially in THIS market. I know SIRI. I am comfortable with my heavy long position. I think it will work. Could I be wrong, sure. But I know the publicly available facts and numbers and I am comfortable enough to bet a lot of green.

    Carry on.

    white coated tinfoil-hat wearer?

Malone publicly said he made offer to Mel before the Dec 08 stock meeting (Google it). Mel never informed stock holders of any of the two offers. Mel failed his duty to stock holders. Mel failed to get financing and caused all this massive stock saturation because he would not make a deal when it was offered. Oh, but he is our hero.

SIRI is now massively saturated. The Rev-Split Mel wanted back in December is now desirable but for a much different reason. Good or bad Mel wants the split and he will not stop “screwing up” until he gets it.

The Street big dogs (except insiders) will NOT trade SIRI until the split is over or off the table.

NasD suspended the 1.00 delisting rule. But will they keep the suspension and get us past December? Will Mel get new authorization for the rev-split? If Mel calls a stock holder vote on anything, just toss your ballet in the trash because you’re outnumbered via Malone and company stock.

Has anyone thought what is going to happen when Mel announces a 1 for 50 split? Well, I will predict a bottom of .05 or lower on the news. Yes, I have dumped most of my 300,000 shares at huge loses. But I will trade back and work the corrupted tide. I can do that because I understand how Mel is playing his SIRI cash cow.

But, a month after the rev-split we will be lucky if SIRI stays over 1.00 as it will be shorted to death. We can hope for the best but we have seen it with other stocks that rev-split.

OK, you don’t believe in shorts causing problems? Than deal with the other problems of negative press and the foul taste SIRI has given the street in the past two years. SIRI needs something big and good to bump this stock up to its true value. SIRI needs Mel to stop screwing up everything new. Have you noticed everything new is tainted somehow? Mel always keeps a downside to drag down the stock. To me, this is obvious but you may call this paragraph a conjecture.

Wow, and the big Mel defense I always love hearing from amateurs, “Mel owns millions of stock”. Most of that stock is controlled while he is CEO via insider laws. But, the larger issue is the “Back End profits”. With back end deals Mel has made private millions just like all CEO’s of big companies do. Get someone to explain it to you.

None of our rants makes any difference. We are stuck with Mel because he owns/controls the stock holder vote. I hoped Malone would bring some stability to SIRI but I have yet to see any.

Well, I am rambling. I don’t much care what you people believe. I just stopped in to waist a few hours of boredom. Believe what you want and I pray all of you have good luck. Make love. Make money. Be happy…

NOT SHORTING - Less long and more happy.

I agree. Not worth the subscription. Also, on the Internet I would not pay to hear Howard Stern talk that filthy trash. But some like it so much.

I listened to Stern for the first time in forever today just to see what he had to say about not being included in the Ipod App.

    Stern said,
"It is about writes issues and Apple makes all that money. Now they wana make money on the Stern?"

I thought Itunes already sold Stern Show Podcast? His statement did not sound like he wanted Apple making any money on him.

Stern has 18 months remaining on his contract. Wow, that is going to be an issue soon...
