Bullish calls:
Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF): 'I know that I like the stock at 53 ... But! I am not giving up on ANF - not here, not now.'
Corning (GLW): 'GLW, through no fault of their own, missed the quarter. There's a glut of liquid crystal display terminals ... it's not GLW's fault.'
Crystallex International (KRY): ' ... I happen to think that Chavez is the real deal - he'll come around. KRY is for me, just as an absolute play on gold!'
United Technologies (UTX): 'UTX delivered a crystal-clear quarter. They're doing a big buyback; they're delivering the numbers; they were bright about the future. This stock is everything I want, but this is a darn tough tape. I'm not throwing in the towel. UTX two thumbs up, way up!'
FMC (FMC)
Conceptus (CPTS): 'Medical device technology - you know I like it on this tape.'
Zimmer Holdings Inc. (ZMH): 'I no longer hate ZMH anymore; it looks like the Justice Dept. is giving them the wink and the nod.'
Pike Electric (PEC): 'PEC is the #1 hurricane play... they're the non-union play!'
Suncor Energy (SU): 'Listen, SU is too cheap! ... down 10 points.'
Marathon Oil (MRO): ' ... an unbelievably blowout quarter and then, what do they say? They're aggressively buying back stock ... why is the market selling it? The stock is down $3 from when they reported. The market's wrong!'
Fortune Brands (FO) ' FO reported a great quarter because of tequila sales..'.
Energy Partners Ltd. (EPL): 'EPL's buying Stone Energy ... Once the deal closes, the stock bounces from $17 to $24.'
Bearish calls:
StrataSystem (SSYS): 'This one's too hard for this environment.
Aetna (AET): ' ... is perhaps the most poorly managed company I have seen in ages.'
Intuitive Surgical (ISRG):'I say go before it cuts your head off. Hey, listen, there's horrible pin action in the whole multiple group.'
Grant Prideco (GRP)
Energy Partners (ETL)
Andrew (ANDW): 'Don't you dare pull the trigger. That is in that area that is just so dead.'
Inco (N):'There is a world shortage of nickel... though, Ben Bernanke does not like commodity plays.'Seeking Alpha publishes a summary of Jim Cramer's stock picks every day including: Mad Money Recap, Lightening Round, Stop Trading and his Radio Show.
