Lexmark: Investors Should Sit Out The Attempted Business Transformation

There is a good chance that the first personal printer you had in your home was a Lexmark (NYSE:LXK) printer. For a period of time, this was a high flying company that could do no wrong. As the personal computer exploded into homes and businesses in over a decade ago, Lexmark rode the wave of consumers and businesses augmenting their new technology prowess with the ability to print endless documents. This trend continued as printers morphed into having the capability to print color photographs at home, double as fax machines, and eventually offer the option of being an all-in-one machine capable of doing all the above items as well as scanning documents or photos.
