Stocks discussed on Jim Cramer's Stop Trading! TV Segment, Thursday July 9.
NetApp (NTAP), EMC (EMC), Data Domain (DDUP). Baldor Electric (BEZ), American Express (AXP)
Cramer is glad the potential deal for NetApp to buy Data Domain is now off the table, since he was concerned the enterprise storage producer would overpay for Data Domain and threaten its potential "blowout" earnings in August. Now that EMC is going to make the deal instead, Cramer thinks NetApp is a safer play.
Cramer reiterated his recommendation of Baldor Electric, and thinks it may be one of the few stocks to benefit from Obama's cap and trade bill.
As American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault offers a bearish outlook for the economy, Cramer notes that restaurants and retail seem to be picking up and the Internet and mobile web sector have seen significant upsides. If the outlook is so bearish, why did the Dow move so dramatically, asked Cramer.
