At the Cowen TMT conference last Thursday (5/30), Neonode (NEON) demonstrated a color display to investors with a high-performance 10-finger touch solution. This unit performed brilliantly and was crystal clear (i.e. no conductive meshes and cover glasses to look through).
While this demo certainly does not confer Windows 8 certification status (not an easy thing to accomplish) upon Neonode's solutions, it should indicate that they are within striking distance. This understated Swedish company is characteristically under-promotional, very tight-lipped, and extremely conservative when it comes to pre-marketing new technologies.
