Cramer's Lightning Round - I Didn't Change My Mind About Southern Company (6/7/13)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round segment of Jim Cramer's Mad Money Program, Friday June 7.

Bullish Calls:

CVR Refining (NYSE:CVRR): "That yield is good. I think that is an interesting place to be. The margins are contracting, but the yield is good. That is why I say you can own that stock."

TransCanada Corporation (NYSE:TRP): "I think President Obama will do it (approve the Keystone Pipeline), but that is not why you buy it. TRP has come down to where it has a 4% yield. That is what I was waiting for. I think you pull the trigger. That has the best growth of any pipeline."

Ruth's Hospitality Group (NASDAQ:RUTH), Darden (NYSE:DRI): "I like it. I also like Darden. The steak business is coming back. I say that is good."

Kimberly Clark (NYSE:KMB): "It pulled back to a 3.5% yield. I think it has become safe to buy. I would buy half a position now, and when it comes down more, I'd buy the rest."

Aqua America (NYSE:WTR): "If I'm going to be in the water business, I'm going to go for Aqua America."

Bearish Calls:

Southern Company (NYSE:SO): "We found out about that coal plant ... and that over-run. I can't believe how much it had over run. That changed everything. So then I said it was too dangerous because they spent too much on that so-called clean coal plant. I didn't change my mind, they changed how much they are losing."

Clean Harbors (NYSE:CLH): "It has been disappointing. They paid too much for that last acquisition. There is not a lot of drilling going on. Let's stay cool on this one right now. I don't want to push it. We've got to see a better quarter than we saw the last time."

Hudson City Bancorp (NASDAQ:HCBK): "They are getting bought. I wouldn't worry about it. You can sell it, because you are not going to get much more money from it. That bank stumbled. It got bought. There is nothing much left to it."

Nuverra (NES): Cramer prefers Aqua America.
