Landstar May Benefit From New Rules

Landstar (NASDAQ:LSTR), a transportation provider, is an interesting company to follow for several reasons. It is a small-cap equity in a global economy. Being in the transportation sector can give an investor early insight as to the macro-economic situation. The United States is heavily reliant on shipping, and as a provider of that service Landstar can be used as a gauge identifying a trend before it might otherwise become apparent. Another reason that I like Landstar and maintain it as a core staple in my portfolio is that the company provides mid quarter updates. It is not often that an investor gets an opportunity to garner insight on the current quarter about a month before the quarter ends....
