JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) is expected to report Q2 earnings Thursday, July 22, with a conference call scheduled for 9:30 am ET.
Analysts are looking for EPS of 2c on revenue of $800.08M. There is a wide consensus range of (1c)-6c for EPS, and $775.4M-$816M for revenue, according to First Call.
The past quarter has not been easy on the airline sector, but JetBlue stands a good chance of recording a small profit for Q2. Demand for airlines has been reaching its lowest levels in years and was driven down further after the swine flu outbreak. However, because flights to Mexico are only a small part of JetBlue's service, the company was not hit as hard as the higher priced carriers in the sector.
Another factor that may aid the company in Q2 was the lower price of fuel helping offset the falling demand. The company's shares have gained 25.39% in the past month, and JBLU may surprise investors with its Q2 report.
