In June 2007 uranium hit $138 a pound. Cameco (CCJ) was north of $50 a share versus the $20 it goes for today. Uranerz (URZ) was just a bunch of acreage at the time but still commanded a $7 price tag in May of 07. Today you can have a share for around $1.13. This with the company on the eve of actual production.
Yes, uranium was a hot place to be in 2007. Then there was that small financial panic in 2008 with the predictable pulverizing of speculative investments. And the effect on non-speculative investments wasn't that pretty either. Uranium declined in price to around $40 in 2010. But, you can't keep a good metal...
