Fulton Financial Corp. (NASDAQ:FULT) is a $2.3 billion regional financial holding company with $16.6 billion in assets. The company is headquartered in Pennsylvania and operates more than 270 offices through six community banks in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Virginia. I thought it was an appropriate time to review Fulton because of the material changes and improvements the company has made over the past year as it is now far from the bank described in its previous article on SeekingAlpha.com, titled Danger Zone.
To begin, FULT has significantly decreased its nonaccrual loans which has the double benefit of improving the safety of the balance sheet and decreasing related charges that ultimately affect the bottom line.
