Why The Fresh Market Is A Good Buy

Today's consumers are aware of the negative impact of processed food and they are putting more emphasis on fresh and quality food. Although many major large hypermarket and warehouse stores like Target (NYSE:TGT), Walmart (NYSE:WMT) and Costco (NASDAQ:COST) are expanding their presence in the grocery segment; grocery stores which have carved their niche in the fresh and organic segment have better prospects for growth in my opinion.

The Fresh Market (NASDAQ:TFM) is moving aggressively with a high store expansion rate and is promoting its private label products. It has focused on local produces and on selling fresh products at premium prices. It is facing competition from Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ:WFM)...
