Coldwater Creek: A Potential Lotto Ticket In The Retail Sector

Coldwater Creek (NASDAQ:CWTR) is a troubled retailer of women's clothing. The stock is off over 50% since the beginning of 2013 and currently carries a market capitalization of ~$70M. Coldwater Creek has been up the proverbial creek without a paddle for a number of years now. However, this one may not be over until the 50 year-old lady sings. With a revamped management team that includes many long time retail industry veterans, a significant cost reduction initiative underway, which includes the closure of underperforming stores, and an infusion of capital during 2012, the final chapter for Coldwater Creek has not yet been written.
