Spherix And Its Rockstar Announcement: A Big Deal For A Small Company

This morning, relatively new patent monetization company Spherix (SPEX) with a market cap of only $5M, announced that it has entered into a deal with IP company Rockstar Consortium to acquire a "suite" of Rockstar's patents. The announcement did not identify the patents being acquired or disclose the terms of the deal. Interestingly, the announcement also stated Rockstar has "agreed to become a shareholder of Spherix," and that Spherix intends to bring its first enforcement action on the Rockstar portfolio within 30-60 days.
