Off the Beaten Path
One of my favorite sectors to cover is regional banking. I think that regional banks provide investors with the ability to both focus on a specific region and buy into enterprises that are deeply interwoven with the communities they serve. As local economies begin to recover and interest rates begin to rise, I believe that regional banks are well situated to prosper in the coming years as they are often more conservatively run and can conduct their financing operations in a more nuanced manner relative to their gigantic cousins.
