Today, the National Association of Realtors released its existing-home sales report for June. It showed a decline in sales with total home sales sliding 1.2% since May, but climbing 15.2% above the level seen in June 2012. Single-family home sales also declined, falling 1.1% from May, but still rising 14.5% above the level seen in June 2012. The median selling price increased a notable 10.5% above the level seen a year earlier.
Inventory of single-family homes increased from May to 1.96 million units, but still remained 6.7% below the level seen in June 2012. That, along with the sales pace, resulted in a monthly supply of 5.2 months.
