Cato Corporation: Negative Earnings Growth And Lack Of Catalysts

The Cato Corporation (NYSE:CATO) is a holding company that retails many different types of predominantly women's apparel and accessories under various brand names. The company also offers selected men's apparel and accessories as well as children and baby apparel and accessories. Retail locations are branded under Cato, Cato Plus, Cato Fashion, It's Fashion Metro and Versona Accessories. The company, in total, operates 1,300+ retail locations and posted sales of $944 million in fiscal 2012. The stock, which is currently trading at about $27, looks cheap by a number of fundamental metrics and the company also pays a very nice dividend that would yield about 4.4% had it not accelerated $1 of the payout for 2013 into 2012 to...
