In this edition of Max Kieser’s “On the Edge”, he discusses the shenanigans in the financial markets with Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge, a fairly new, but already influential financial blog. Durden writes under the pseudonym of Brad Pitt’s character in the movie Fight Club, subscribing to the “critical importance of anonymity and its role in dissident speech” (via Wall St. Cheat Sheet). The four authors of Zero Hedge are ex-Wall Streeters with over two decades of corporate financial advisory, investing and operational experience.

Kierser’s in-your-face presentation style may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but it certainly makes for thought-provoking viewing material.

Well very fascinating- front running is really big. We are in the world of oligarchy - the newest version under BHO.

Excellent interview. Do you think GS will survive without HFT? They did just fine before it was put in place. The collective incompetence in our goverment is impossible to even get you brain around.

The first time I heard Keiser, he was presenting a show on BBC Worldwide. I kept thinking, what he says sounds crazy, but he's also spot on. If anyone had ever suggested we have a financial system as we have today, they would have been dismissed as a lunatic, but we have slowly crept into this mess and I cannot see how we can get out without a huge fight.

It's a shame this well done interview was conducted on a network funded by the Iranian Government (Press TV).

I like Tyler Durden and zero hedge but to be honest, I tend to like a more neutral host. The host's outward bias discredits the more academic fact finding that made Zero Hedge so popular. Also Tyler Durden needs no leading to make his argument.

There are hundreds of bears and conspiracy theorists but very few people presents much substance or coherent logic as to what's going on like Tyler Durden has. Max Keiser makes a very good example of a rational critic of the economic system and someone who likes to shout out allegations which are nothing put opinions.

Press TV takes revolutionary steps as the first Iranian international news network, broadcasting in English on a round-the-clock basis.

Our global Tehran-based headquarters is staffed with outstanding Iranian and foreign media professionals.

Press TV is extensively networked with bureaus located in the world's most strategic cities.

    Iranian media shut down

United Press International encountered either no service or limited service from English-language broadcasts coming from Iranian media outlets.

Local outlets, including a pro-Mousavi newspaper and other reformist news services, were also either closed outright or heavily censored.

Thanks Max. To bad we don't have more real financial reporters like you in the US.
