Two of my favorite west coast REITs, Essex Property Trust (NYSE:ESS) and Retail Opportunity Investment Corporation (NASDAQ:ROIC), have been valuable players in my Intelligent REIT Investor (newsletter) portfolio. Essex, with a market cap of around $6.3 billion has increased in price (current $166.39) by around 5% (over the last 30 days) and ROIC, with a market cap of around $950 million has increased in price (current $14.12) by around 2% (during the last 30 days).
