Assurant: Unintended Consequences Of New Regulations Will Hammer The Stock

Assurant, Inc. (NYSE:AIZ) is a multi-line insurance company that specializes in niche markets. The company's stock has enjoyed a big run-up so far this year, but I believe it may be about to encounter a stiff headwind which will hold back stock price appreciation for a while. In the long run, however, the firm should be fine and indeed if the current trend towards specialized insurance companies (like AIZ) taking market share holds, the firm will thrive… eventually.
