Hospitality Properties Trust: Still Attractive


Shares of Hospitality Properties Trust (NYSE:HPT) have appreciated by about 19% since my last discussion of the company in Sept. 2012, outperforming the share price appreciation of the S&P 500 as well as competitors LaSalle Hotel Properties (NYSE:LHO), Host Hotel & Resorts (NYSE:HST), Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (PEB) and Sunstone Hotel Investors (NYSE:SHO) (see graph). While no two companies are the same, when a company in an industry outperforms the peer group it tells you it is a company worth investing in.
