<< Go Back to Part i: Friday Roundup - Remembering 9/11

Okay, that does it for this week. Next week we’ll start getting more economic data (it never stops, like junk mail) with earnings and outlooks the week after. Markets are extended and there isn’t a lot of room for disappointment or to use the hackneyed “stocks are priced to perfection”. And, believe it or not, next week is “quadruple witching” which can move markets in unique ways. Caution is advised.

So another 9/11 anniversary passes and it’s interesting we still haven’t rebuilt that complex although construction has started. It sure is a sad moment.

Speaking of sad moments, our close family friend, Fred Hunt, passed away over the weekend. Some will remember I made a quick day trip to Iowa in June knowing he had little time left. Below is a photo of our little gang with Fred front and center.

Have a pleasant weekend.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Hang tough. Maybe set aside a day every year to remember him?

what do you expect with UNG when you write to "watch the 22 day moving average"?

Thanks, everyone regarding Freddy. A lifetime friend gone is a profound thing for any of us.

As to UNG, the 22 period MA is, from my view only, a critical level of overhead resistance for it. Getting through it decisively may spell a bottom for this horrific move down.

Thanks for writing in what must be a trying time for you.

I'll tell you, I was at the mall last weekend, and people are buying. Now maybe it's the well-off who aren't feeling the pinch, or back to school and getting the kids what they need, or carry-over from cash for clunkers. But whatever it was, I think 3rd qtr figures are going to be better than expected, and consumer spending is picking up. JMO.
