Stocks discussed on Jim Cramer's Stop Trading! TV Segment, Thursday October 1.
Airgas (ARG), Kimberly Clark (KMB),
Airgas CEO Peter McCausland admits to getting mixed messages about the economy from clients: some auto and metal companies are laying off workers while others are calling their employees back. However, McCausland sees reason to be optimistic because of the number of trucks on the road and the "nice pick up in sales the last 30 days."
If the market heads lower, Cramer recommends Clorox and Kimberly Clark, emphasizing the latter for its international exposure which protects it from the weak dollar, and its solid dividend.
"If the market’s predicting a recession,” Cramer said, KMB “should be going higher.”
