I was first introduced to BJ's Restaurants (BJRI) during an investor conference where I had the chance to sit down with then CEO and current chairman Gerald Deitchle for a 1-on1 meeting. Mr. Deitchle is a veteran of the industry. He has over 27 years of experience with national restaurant and retail chain operations including Fired Up Inc., The Cheesecake Factory (CAKE), and the parent company of Long John Silvers. To this day, I consider Mr. Deitchle one of the smartest and most knowledgeable executives I have ever met. Since that time, I have tried to keep tabs on the company and thought it was time to share the BJ's Restaurants story.
