Insulet Corporation (PODD) sells the only commercially available insulin infusion system OmniPod. OmniPod is a handheld device that consists of a pod, which can be worn on many parts of the body to hold and deliver insulin. The device wirelessly programs the Pod and calculates suggested doses with the help of a built-in blood glucose meter. The company has agreements with Abbott (ABT) and DexCom (DXCM) to integrate its OmniPod Personal Diabetes Manager. Neighborhood Diabetes was acquired by PODD in 2011 for $63 mn.
