Emerging markets are the best performing markets this year. In these markets, the main market indexes of countries like Brazil have skyrocketed year-to-date (YTD) relative to other countries. For example, the MSCI Brazil Index ETF (EWZ) is up an incredible 99.42% as of September 30, 2009. Some of the Latin American ADRs have also had great runs.

  • Great to see my favorite stock GMK heading up this list. I didn't get in below the dollar mark when it looked like they were going to go bankrupt but did when the banks supported them and the news broke that they would seek financing. Now, the deal is almost done and the future news will show the details of the financing agreements and the restrictions on dividend payments. If more favorable than expectations, today's opening gap could be the prelude for another doubling in price.

    Your post and analysis on the potential of these stocks was most welcome - the best I've seen to date on Seeking Alpha.

  • It would be nice if you could also have provided just a sentence or two on each one (even just a few phrases) so we have a better idea of which stocks are in sectors interesting to us.

    But thank you for all the leads you've given us.

    And yes, isn't EWZ (and Brazilian small-cap BRF, etc) amazing? More than 70% gain in just the last 6 months.
