Jobless Claims Improve But Still Indicate Further Losses

The Department of Labor reported initial jobless claims fell to a seasonally adjusted 514,000 in the last week, whilst the 4-week moving average fell to 531,500, the lowest level since December last year. The trend is moving in the right direction but claims need to move considerably before we can begin to talk of job losses ending let alone net job additions.
