In case you were ever doubtful that H1N1 flu fears wouldn't cause sanitizer sales to spike higher -- something I"ve written about here a number of times -- here is some data making the point fairly convincingly. According to Panjiva, hand sanitizer shipments to the U.S. have doubled year-over-year. Too bad Purell is such a teensy part of J&J (JNJ) sales.

Even more interesting: NON-alcohol sanitizer products have come into their own--much in part due to the fact that schools, federal agencies, extended health care facilities, and corporations are prohibiting alcohol-based products due to a variety of concerns (flammability, toxicity, danger to skin, etc.)
The non-alcohol hand sanitizer market is recording 200%-500% sales increases...industry dominated by non-public companies--but one private company (MGS Brands, Inc. of CT) owns two of the leading names in the category..Hy5sanitizer... and SoapyUSA.com
