Investing In Optical Networks Is Getting Fun Again

Lucent was the biggest IPO of all-time when it listed on the NYSE in 1996. At the time, the world was laying the foundation for ever-increasing Internet use, laying millions of miles of high capacity line and equipment to handle the wave of new traffic jamming old fashioned copper telephone lines. Today, service providers are once again turning to optical to meet the next wave of data demand from mobile devices.

As a result, I scanned our universe of companies in the optical space looking for an under-followed small cap likely to trade higher. One of the best scoring in the system used by my firm, E.B. Capital Markets, LLC is Oplink (NASDAQ:OPLK).
