Stocks discussed on Jim Cramer's Stop Trading! TV Segment, Monday October 26.
Amazon (AMZN), Wellpoint (WLP), Humana (HUM), United Health (UNH), Nucor (NUE), Walmart (WMT), U.S. Steel (X)
While Amazon's successful quarter brought the market up early on Monday, a triple digit decline followed, which Cramer believes is "the kiss of death." A strong dollar and bearish news from the Texas Federal Reserve sent down gold and oil, and Cramer says Monday was a day for the shorts. Even good news from Amazon was greeted with suspicion amid talk that Wal-Mart might move into the internet retail space. However, Cramer doesn't think Wal-Mart will make this move because it can't sell goods as cheaply on the internet as Amazon. “If Walmart can’t be low cost,” he asked, “why go there?”
Cramer recommended steel stocks Nucor and U.S. Steel. Concerning his healthcare proposal, Cramer doesn't think government reforms will hurt United Health (UNH), Humana (HUM) and Wellpoint (WLP) in the long run, but for now, it is not worth being long these stocks.
