hhgregg (HGG) is one of those companies that begs to be shorted. The customer reviews for the company are horrendous, and even the employees hate the company. Most analysts are playing a wait-and-see game, with 13 of the 15 analysts following the company having a "hold" rating. But we say, "why wait?" The company appears to be a clear sell, with no catalyst on the horizon to suggest the company will pull off a turnaround.
Without a serious rehab, the company is destined for continued underperformance and squandered shareholder value. And in the worst case, following suit of the bankrupt consumer goods retailer Circuit City.
