In the current stock market there are a lot of interesting and potentially attractive insurances stocks out there. This is probably at least partially driven by over-anxious investor concern over the effects of future Fed tapering, but that's a subject for another article. Looking at Validus Holdings (VR) briefly one might also think it belongs in the same category. After all it's a cheap stock by earnings and price-to-book measures.
