Hitting Bottom: Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF)

The secret to making money, says Cramer, is to pick up a company when it hits bottom although finding this lowest point can be a challenge. Cramer discusses ANF which fell to $55 after reporting lackluster same-store sales in July and because of downgrades from analysts who were bearish on retail as oil prices soared. ANF is back to $68 and is going to $88, and Cramer praised those who did their homework on ANF and knew that its fundamentals were solid in spite of the negativity. Cramer suggests taking advantage of unfair downgrades to catch a good stock when it bottoms and doing homework on companies.

Starbucks (SBUX), Hansen Natural (HANS), Whole Foods (WFMI)

In a recent program, Cramer said that SBUX, HANS and WFMI had all lost their steam but that SBUX was the most likely to recover. After "abnormal" sluggish same-store sales because of long lines of customers waiting for SBUX's time-consuming banana frappucino, the popular coffee seller has made a comeback and reported great numbers in August. Analysts were saying that SBUX has a saturation problem, but 'how can you be saturated when you have lines that are too long?" Cramer remarked and added that SBUX has great long-term growth, is opening six stores a day in the US, is expanding in China and is diversifying with the sale of CDs and books.
